Rock band New Order have recently released a beer in collaboration with the Moorhouse Brewery.
The golden ale is named Stray Dog after their brand new song.
The refreshing ale will be available as a draught in pubs and in 500ml bottles in supermarkets and off-licences.
In honour of the creation of Stray Dog, we’ve taken a look at some other celebrities who have tried their hand at creating different alcoholic drinks over the years.
David Beckham - Haig Club Whiskey
Haig Club Whiskey was formed in 2014. Created by David Beckham, the single-grain malt Scotch is distilled in Cameronbridge, one of Scotland’s oldest grain distilleries. It is a light and sweet whiskey that is named after one of Cameronbridge’s founders, John Haig.
Iron Maiden - Trooper Ale
Handcrafted at Robinson’s Brewery, Trooper is a traditional English ale created by Iron Maiden’s front man, Bruce Dickinson. The brewery is based in Stockport and is one of the largest family breweries in the UK. This golden ale combines Bobek, Goldings, and Cascade hops with a subtle hint of lemon.
Dan Ackroyd - Crystal Head Vodka
Crystal Head Vodka was founded by Canadian actor Dan Ackroyd back in 2007 and is one of the more well-known, celebrity-created drinks. With its unique bottle shape and clean taste, it has proven to be a hit worldwide. The product is made from peaches and cream corn and part of the distillation process takes place through semi-precious crystals in Newfoundland, Canada.
Sammy Hagar - Cabo Wabo Tequila
In 1996, Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar helped kick-off the trend of celebrities creating alcohol. His Cabo Wabo tequila is widely available and just a few years ago, he sold 80 percent of the brand to Skyy Spirits for $80million. He has since created a new drink called Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum, which is made from Hawaiian sugar cane.
Joe Montana - Aviation American Gin
NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana co-owns the House Spirits distillery in Portland, Oregon and released the Aviation Gin under this brand. The gin is a lot more subtle than its British counterparts and the bottle is specifically designed for bartenders as it’s the right size for a speed-rail and is ridged for better grip.
Vince Neil - Tres Rios Tequila
Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil admitted that he took inspiration from Sammy Hagar when he decided to create his own tequila, but there’s no bad blood between the pair. Neil’s tequila, Tres Rios, is made at his own operation in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Ludacris - Conjure Cognac
Named after a Ludacris mix tape, Conjure is a Cognac made by the MC in collaboration with Cognac producer Birkedal Hartmann. While most celebrities simply endorse liquor brands, Ludacris was actually involved in the blending of the alcohol.
Justin Timberlake - Sauza 901 Tequila
Back in 2009, Justin Timberlake joined the celebrity tequila trend. The name of his drink comes from the area code of a district in Memphis, Tennessee.
CeeLo Green - Ty Ku Sake
In 2012, singer CeeLo Green became a part-owner and spokesperson for the brand Ty Ku, an American spirits company best known for their production of Sake, a Japanese wine made from fermented rice.
George Clooney - Casamigos Tequila
George Clooney collaborated with his friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, both successful businessmen, to create Casamigos. The trio say that their product is “the best-tasting, smoothest tequila” around.
Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt - Miraval Rose
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt recently released their own rosé wine, which is made at their French vineyard. The drink has been well-received and is available in both Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.
Hanson - Mmmhops
Former band Hanson have a brewing business called Hanson Brother Beers, which is based in Oklahoma. Their signature beer, Mmmhops, is named after their most famous song.
Khloe Kardashian – Hpnotiq Sparkle
Two years ago, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian launched her Hpnotiq Sparkle liqueur. The drink is a blend of white wine, vodka, fruit juices, brandy, and ‘Champagne-like bubbles’.
AC/DC - Rock or Bust
AC/DC’s Rock or Bust beer was only available in Europe when it was first launched. It has since been released in the band’s homeland of Australia and is proving to be extremely popular.
Pearl Jam – Faithfull Ale
Released in 2011 to celebrate their 20th anniversary and the release of their now-legendary debut album Ten, Faithfull Ale is Pearl Jam’s contribution to the world of beer.
Pharrell Williams - Qream with a Q
Musician Pharrell Williams launched his Qream with a Q liqueur in 2001. He says he created it to provide an alternative to the “lighter fluid liquor” that was on the market at the time.
Cliff Richard - Vida Nova Wine
An award-winning wine from an award-winning artist, Vida Nova is produced at Sir Cliff’s vineyard, which is situated in the Algarve.
Drew Barrymore - Barrymore Wine

Willie Nelson - Old Whiskey River Bourbon
Willie Nelson was involved in just about every step of the process when his drink was created. He chose the name, a homage to his song Whiskey River, the bottle design and even got to have a say in how it tasted thanks to the distillers, who sent him samples whilst he was touring.
